Los AFA (Asian Film Awards) son unos premios (al estilo de los Oscars de Hollywood) que van a unificar el cine que se hace en el continente asiático valorando las películas de toda la región, en vez de considerarlo por separado en cada uno de los países. Es una excelente idea, ya que últimamente se dan colaboraciones, especialmente entre Corea, Thailandia y Hong-Kong, cada vez más frecuentes, intercambiándose directores, actores, etc. Una idea que tanto tiempo hemos estado esperando los aficionados al cine made in asia.
Los premios reconoceran películas y cineastas de todo el continente, de Irán a China hasta la India, en 10 categorías inclyendo las habituales de Mejor Película, Director, Actor, Actriz, Guionista, Fotografía, Diseño de Producción, Compositor, Edición y Efectos Especiales.
